Kathmandu. Fuse Machines Inc., an artificial intelligence (AI) company founded by Nepali, has recently achieved a historic milestone by being listed on the Nasdaq of the US stock market.

Fuse Machines was started in 2013 by Dr. Maskey, a professor at Columbia University, with a small team focused on AI research and engineering in Kathmandu. Maskey’s main goal was to democratize AI. That is, bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI and real-world access to ensure its reach in developing countries.
Headquartered in New York, the company has expanded its engineering operations in Nepal, serving customers in North America. It focused on employing local graduates and conducting talent enhancement programs.
By 2025, Fuse Machines will have operations in the United States, Canada, Nepal, Dominican Republic, Bangladesh and Rwanda with more than 400 employees. On October 23, Fuse Machines became the first Nepal-led AI company to be publicly traded on Nasdaq. This is an important achievement for the Nepalese technical sector and the international community.
