Kathmandu. Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung has been barred from going abroad.
The probe commission formed to investigate the incidents of September 7 and 24 has barred Khapung, who retired from today, from going abroad. A meeting of the Commission held today decided to ban Khapung from leaving the country immediately after his retirement.
Likewise, Khapung will not be allowed to leave the Kathmandu Valley without the EC’s permission.
The Sushila Karki-led interim government has formed a probe commission under the chairmanship of former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki to probe the incidents of the Genji generation. The EC has also asked former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli not to leave Kathmandu without EC’s permission.
