Kathmandu. Summer vacations have already begun in the US. Summer holidays have begun in American colleges and universities. However, the fear of President Donald Trump’s government is such that foreign students are reluctant to leave the US and return to their country.
Some foreign students are afraid to travel to the United States. They fear that they will not be able to re-enter the US after returning home.
According to an Associated Press report, a student at the University of California-San Diego was on an air trip with his friends for a summer vacation. But then he heard that many foreign students have been expelled from the US. So he canceled his plan.
The students felt it was not safe to travel to the United States. “I want to face as little the U.S. government as possible,” the student said on condition of anonymity.
This is the story of thousands of American students. Those who don’t want to go home on summer vacations.
In fact, visas of foreign students have been canceled since president Trump’s return to the government. As a result, there is now fear in the minds of the students. Students who plan to go home during the summer vacation or travel outside the US for research are now forced to think twice.
Many students whose visas were revoked took part in pro-Palestinian protests last year. However, there are some students whose visas have been cancelled for minor offences such as breaking traffic signals.
Earlier, some colleges had tried to expel students from the US for protesting in support of Palestine. Now many colleges have advised students not to go abroad.
The University of California, Berkel, said travel abroad could be dangerous as the government is closely monitoring people. This kind of advice has been given to students by many universities.
