Kathmandu. In the 8 months of the current fiscal year 2081.82, Nepal has received foreign direct investment commitments worth more than Rs 44.66 billion till mid-Falgun.
The Department of Industries has received foreign direct investment commitments worth Rs 44.66 billion till mid-Falgun. This commitment has been made for 427 industries. It is said that 11,475 people will get employment in these industries.
According to the department, in the month of Falgun alone, foreign direct investment commitments worth Rs 17.79 billion have been made for the establishment of 40 industries.
The highest number of foreign direct investment commitments till mid-Falgun have been in the service sector. As of Falgun, commitments worth Rs 22.36 billion 37 million have been received in the service sector. This is 54.13 percent of the total commitments received in the current fiscal year.
Similarly, foreign investment commitments worth Rs 17.90 billion 75 million have been received in the tourism sector, Rs 2.63 billion 20 million in the manufacturing sector, Rs 25.5 million in energy-oriented sectors, Rs 761 million in agriculture-oriented sectors, and Rs 20 million in infrastructure-oriented sectors.
The largest number of foreign investment commitments has been received in small industries. Accordingly, there are 415 small industries. Similarly, investment commitments have been received for 4 medium and 4 small industries.
