Kathmandu. Rivers in different parts of the country are at moderate risk of flash floods today.
According to the information issued by the Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the flow of small rivers flowing through Sindhupalchowk, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Rukum West, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, Jajarkot, Dolpa, Dailekh, Surkhet, Kailali, Kanchanpur and adjoining districts will increase significantly today.
Similarly, the flow of small rivers flowing through Ilam, Jhapa, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Terhathum, Panchthar, Syangja, Tanahun, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi, Dhading, Nuwakot, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, Dolakha, Parbat, Myagdi, Dadeldhura, Baitadi and adjoining districts is likely to increase significantly today.
According to this morning’s measurement, the flow of Karnali and Mahakali rivers is around alert. According to the Division, the flow of Koshi, Narayani, Kamala, Bagmati, East Rapti, West Rapti, Babai and Kankai rivers is below the alert level. The Division has urged the people living in the areas around the river to remain alert.
According to the Division, light to moderate rainfall is taking place at a few places of Madhes Province and Lumbini Province, at a few places of Koshi Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province and at one or two places of rest of the provinces.
