Kathmandu. The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) has fixed a new interest rate by changing the annual interest rate offered to the depositors and the annual interest rate charged by the fund on the depositors’ depositors with effect from July 1. As per the decision of the Board of Directors of the Fund, the annual interest rate provided by the Fund on provident fund amount and retirement fund amount to the depositors has been fixed at 5:00 (5.0) with effect from July 1, 2082 BS.
Similarly, the interest rate on savings provided by the Fund to depositors has been fixed at 6.25 percent (6.25 percent) on special saapati, 7.25 percent (7.25 percent) on house swap, educational saapati and house maintenance sapati and 7.50 (7.5 percent) on land purchase and simple sapati
.
In the case of depositors who regularly pay the interest on collateral-based saapatis other than special loans, a discount of 0.25 percent (0.25) percent has been provided. The fund will provide Rs. 10,000 to the depositors for construction of houses and purchase of houses and land. Up to Rs. 1 crore and Rs. 10 million for repairing the house. It provides up to Rs 3 million.
Similarly, the fund will provide rs. 10,000 for the purpose of providing higher education to the depositor himself or spouse or son/daughter. Up to Rs. 40 lakhs and a simple loan of Rs. 40 lakhs will be given for the work of the depositor during the service period. It has been providing up to Rs 60 lakh.
In addition, the fund provides up to 90 percent of the amount deposited in the depositors’ accounts as a special deposit. In the current fiscal year, 158,344 depositors have received special depositors, 114,456 depositors have received fund payments, 2,926 depositors have received collateral-based saapati, 25,298 depositors have received social security benefits and 1,791 depositors have received contribution-based retirement payments.
The fund’s branch offices and service centers in all seven provinces, including the Kathmandu Valley, have been providing special saapati, house sapati, educational saapati, saral saapati, house repair sapati and land purchase saapati to the depositors.
At present, a total of 679,391 depositors and contributors including 580,000 depositors and 99,391 contributors from civil, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, public institutions and organized sector and community and institutional schools are involved in the fund.
