Kathmandu. Employees of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) have continued their agitation on Thursday.
Employees of NEPSE have continued their agitation demanding the resignation of Chairman Hemanta Basya and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chudamani Chapagain. They had started the agitation by locking Basyal and CEO Chapagain in their office till late on Tuesday night.
Employees have padlocked the offices of the chairman and CEO of NEPSE even today. However, CEO Chapagain and Chairman Basyal were not present at NEPSE today.
NEPSE employees have been protesting demanding restructuring of NEPSE and reform of share market. They have also expressed dissatisfaction with the bonuses they are getting.
The employees were wearing black bands on their hands today. “We will continue our agitation until the resignation of the chairman and CEO continues,” said Nawaraj Thapa, president of NEPSE Employees’ Union. We are in a spontaneous movement. Reform of the stock market and restructuring of NEPSE are our main demands. The current president and CEO can’t do that. That’s why we have asked for his resignation. ’
