Kathmandu. The government is going to make arrangements to install embossed number plates in vehicles from seven more transport offices from September 1.
Issuing a notice today, the Department of Transport Management informed that arrangements have been made to install embossed number plates from seven more transport offices in different parts of the country from September 1. According to the Department, the installation of embossed number plates will start from September 15 from the Transport Management Office Dhangadhi, Kanchanpur, Birgunj, Lahan, Chitwan, Itahari and Birtamod.
At present, embossed number plates are being installed in vehicles from nine offices located in different parts of the country. At present, the transport management office, Ekantakuna (small and big vehicles), Hetauda, Gurjudhara, Pokhara, Butwal, Tulsipur, Nepalgunj and Surkhet can install embossed number plates.
The Ministry of Physical Planning and Transport had made embossed number plates mandatory for all vehicles from September 1. However, after widespread criticism and opposition against it, the Ministry has said that it is not mandatory from September 1and the embossed number plate can be installed at its favorable time.
