Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump’s aide Elon Musk has expressed hope for a ‘zero tariff’ situation between the US and Europe.
During a live conversation with Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini on Saturday, Musk, the world’s richest man, said, ‘I hope that both Europe and America should go to zero tariffs. So that there can be free trade between Europe and America.’
Musk said, ‘There should be more freedom of movement for people in Europe and North America. This is definitely my advice to the president.’
Apart from tariffs, Musk also criticized Europe’s ‘oppressive’ policies. He said, “Because of those policies, Europe has not become a suitable place to start new businesses.”
On April 2, US President Donald Trump imposed reciprocal tariffs on many countries around the world. The impact of Trump’s move has been seen in stock markets around the world. In addition, demonstrations are taking place against Trump in the US. –Agency
