Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has announced that he will also impose a tax on foreign films. He has announced a 100 percent tariff on foreign films.
Announcing this on his Truth social platform, Trump wrote, “America’s film industry is collapsing rapidly. Other countries are giving our filmmakers and studios every possible incentive to move away from america. ’
Trump said it was a concerted effort by other countries and therefore a “threat to national security”. Trump said he was empowering the Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative to start the process of imposing a 100 percent tax on foreign films. “We want films to be made in america again,” he wrote.
Since the start of his second term in January, Trump has imposed tariffs on countries around the world. “These tariffs will boost U.S. manufacturers and save jobs,” he said. ’
