Kathmandu. Hundreds of thousands of american cities, including New York and Washington, held the second largest demonstration on Saturday against Donald Trump and his tough policies.

Protesters gathered outside the city’s main library in New York and carried posters and banners with slogans such as “No Kings in America” and “Resist Tyranny”, afp reported. Much of the anger in these protests was against Trump’s immigration policy. People were shouting loudly – ‘No ice, no fear, immigrants are welcome here’. This slogan was against the US immigration agency ICE, i.e. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. which detains illegal immigrants.

Protesters in Washington DC accused the Trump administration of undermining constitutional principles, especially the right to due process. Benjamin Douglas, 41, who was protesting outside the White House, said, “This administration is directly attacking the rule of law and the basic concept of not oppressing citizens.” ’

Douglas carried posters demanding the release of pro-Palestinian student protester Mahmoud Khalil. “Some people have been deliberately targeted in an attempt to incite hatred of foreigners and undermine long-standing legal protections,” Douglas said. ’

“We’re in great danger,” said 73-year-old Kathy Valley, a New York protester who is the daughter of Holocaust survivors. The only difference is that Trump is more foolish than Hitler or other fascist leaders. He is being used and there is a rift within his own team. ’

Daniela Butler, a 26-year-old PhD student in immunology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, expressed concern about the Trump administration’s cuts to science and public health funds. “When science is ignored, people die,” she said. She carried a map of Texas. It showed the locations where the measles epidemic had recently spread.

A small group also protested in Galveston, Texas. “This is my fourth performance,” said 63-year-old author Patsy Oliver. Normally I used to wait for the next election but now we have lost so much that we can no longer remain silent. ’

Hundreds of people wrote “Impitch Remove” on the sands of San Francisco’s beach. Some protesters also hoisted the U.S. flag upside down. Which is considered a traditional symbol of crisis.

The group called ‘50501’ (which means 50 protests and one movement in 50 states) said it planned about 400 protests across the country. Organizers were expecting millions of participants, but this time the crowd was less than what happened on April 5. – Agency
