In the talks held at the Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday evening, the association withdrew the agitation program after the government side assured to make necessary amendments in the consumer act to address the demands of the doctors’ association.

During the talks, it was agreed to form a three-member taskforce to submit a report within seven days with suggestions on the legal and policy provisions to address the demands of the agitating Nepal Doctors’ Association and various organizations related to health services.

The committee will comprise the chief coordinator of the Division for The Protection of Supplies Management and Consumer Interest under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, one joint secretary-level representative each from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Health.
