Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has organized a discussion program regarding the establishment and operation of Insurance Information Center at the central office of NTA, Kupandole. The program has been organized with the objective of collecting suggestions from the Chief Executive Officers of Insurance Companies, Micro Insurance Companies and Reinsurance Companies regarding the establishment and operation of Insurance Information Center as provided in the Insurance Act, 2079.
On the occasion, Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), Janak Raj Sharma, stressed the need of a central government to integrate information related to insurance and identify and control wrongdoings.
Stating that the establishment of the insurance information center would benefit all including the insurers and the insured, Sharma said that the work of establishing the insurance information center would be forwarded as soon as per the law based on the suggestions of all concerned to make the insurance sector more safe and reliable.

On the occasion, Chairman Sharma urged the insurers to furnish practical suggestions on the structure, modality and operation dimension of the centre while establishing the Insurance Information Centre.
Former Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Dr. Presenting the preliminary draft on the establishment, operation and management of the Insurance Information Center as an expert, Baikuntha Aryal said that the insurance information center was necessary to provide accurate information, information and analysis related to the insurance sector.
On the occasion, President of Nepal Insurance Association Birendra Baidwar and President of Nepal Life Insurance Association Praveen Raman Parajuli expressed commitment to provide necessary support for the establishment of Insurance Information Centre.
The participants also agreed to set up an insurance information center. It has also been informed that the work of establishing an Insurance Information Center would be forwarded by revising the preliminary draft by incorporating the opinions and suggestions received during the discussions.
Directors of Nepal Insurance Authority and CEOs of life insurance companies, non-life insurance companies, micro insurance companies and reinsurance companies were present in the program.
