Kathmandu. The Department of Cooperatives has directed to implement the provision that a single person can be the sole director of the cooperative at the same time.
The department has issued a circular directing the cooperatives to do so. Clause 41 (5) of the Cooperative Act, 2074 states that a person can be a sole director of a cooperative at the same time.
The department has issued this directive after receiving complaints that some people are still working as dual operators against this provision. The Department has warned that action would be taken as per the Cooperative Act and Regulations if the regulation was not followed.
