A total of 1,042 new covid cases were reported in Hong Kong in the week ending May 10. Last week, the number was 972. At the beginning of March, there were only 33 cases per week. This means covid-19 infections have been steadily increasing since March.
The biggest concern is that the Covid positivity rate continues to rise. In the week ended March 1, the positivity rate was only 0.31 per cent. It rose to 5.09 per cent by April 5 and to 13.66 per cent in the week ended May 10.
