Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and property during the agitation and demonstrations across the country. Expressing heartfelt condolence to the youths who lost their lives during the agitation, the government has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The CNI has expressed the belief that the country would enter a new phase by giving high importance to the aspirations of the younger generation including good governance, anti-corruption and transparency in the public sector. It is believed that peace and order would be maintained in the country as per the aspiration of the general public to move ahead by overcoming the existing confusion. For this, the CNI is committed to provide necessary support, cooperation and coordination.
The NC has also drawn the attention of all sides concerned towards the incidents of arson, vandalism and looting of public and private properties during the agitation which have saddened the industrialists and entrepreneurs. The serious impact on the industrial and business sectors and incidents of vandalism, arson and looting centered on individuals and businesses have scared the investors as well as affected the employment of many people. The Confederation has urged the government to ensure security by creating an environment conducive for the private sector to carry out industry and business as it would have a serious impact on domestic and foreign investment along with employment.
Billions of rupees will be required to reconstruct the infrastructure of the public and private sectors. It is said that the state resources alone cannot reconstruct the reconstruction. Stating that the private sector is also the main source of income of the state, the CNI has urged the government to ensure environment conducive for carrying out industries and business without fear and fear.
The economy faced a very challenging situation for about three years due to Covid-19 and the regulatory provisions that followed. The CNI has also urged all sides concerned to create appropriate environment in time as the cycle of economy could be affected and the overall economic development and the government’s revenue could be affected if the industries and business could not be run smoothly in the present situation.
