Kathmandu. A complaint has been filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority against Sharad Ojha, Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority.
The complaint has been filed with the Commission claiming that Ojha succeeded in becoming the Chairman of the Insurance Authority by submitting false work experience. The complaint states that Ojha recently succeeded in securing the post of Chairman of the Insurance Authority in a manner that violates even the minimum standards of good governance.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Falgun 12, 2081 BS had appointed Ojha as the Chairman of the Authority. The complaint claims that Ojha was appointed as the chairman by lying to the Nepal government and submitting false details.
The complaint claims that the truth will be revealed when Ojha asks the bodies from which he has submitted experience certificates to become the chairman of the authority. ‘There have been reports through various media outlets that Ojha has submitted a qualification certificate for working as a senior manager at Clickmandu.com,’ the complaint states. ‘In this regard, the truth should be revealed by extracting the vacancy details submitted by Clickmandu.com.’
The complaint states that he does not have the necessary experience in the fields of banking, finance, insurance, etc. envisaged by the Insurance Act. ‘It is understood that most of the certificates of experience he has submitted in various bodies are for the same period of time.’
The Authority has been requested through a complaint to investigate and take immediate action against Ojha, who has been appointed to a regulatory body like the Insurance Authority, which is supposed to contribute to the welfare of the insured and the development of the country by misusing about 700 billion rupees paid by millions of insured people to the Nepal government by submitting false details.
