While the news of the Nepal Government’s Council of Ministers meeting on Monday evening dismissing Kulman Ghising from the post of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority and appointing Hitendra Dev Shakya is going viral in the media, government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung has claimed that no decision was taken regarding Ghising in the meeting.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, he said that the Council of Ministers meeting has extended the deadline for the committee to recommend the names of the officials of the Truth and Disappearance Commission. The meeting informed that the decision was made on a total of three agenda items, including:

The Council of Ministers meeting has approved the proposal to participate in the sixth BIMSTEC meeting to be held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, from Chaitra 19 to 23.
