Kathmandu. Citizen Life Insurance Company formed a Women’s Forum with 11 members on the occasion of its seventh anniversary. This forum has been formed with the aim of coordinating the women employees working in this company to create a great workplace, taking necessary initiatives to discuss such issues and playing a necessary role in providing solutions if problems arise.
This forum concluded its program today, Falgun 23, at the company’s head office, Thapathali, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8 every year, by organizing a “Creative Literary Competition” and a session by guest speaker Deepa Dahal (Deputy Executive Director – Nepal Securities Board).
The guest speaker of the program, Deepa Dahal, shared her experience about the role of women in the financial industry, highlighting their contributions, challenges and the way forward. She highlighted some statistics to the 178 Citizen employees who were present in person and online at the event, emphasizing that women themselves should take the initiative for women’s empowerment and that men should also support them, and encouraged women’s empowerment.
Citizen Women’s Forum also organized a creative literary competition among all employees of the company on the occasion of Women’s Day. Out of all the employees who participated in the competition, the best 5 were given the opportunity to present their works at the event. After the presentation, the first, second and third place employees were awarded by the company’s management team.
Forum coordinator Rita Pathak expressed her commitment to encourage and support the role of women by preparing a code of conduct and said that the forum has a vision to conduct similar educational programs in the coming times and to carry out various activities in line with corporate social responsibility.
At the program, the company’s CEO, Poshti Raj Poudel, declared the program closed, stating that the company’s priority is to create a safe and inclusive workplace.
The main objective of this Women’s Forum is to empower female employees working in the company and to create a safe and inclusive workplace for everyone, including women. It is about coordinating to create an excellent workplace and environment, and helping to facilitate it by running various programs, and coordinating to maintain gender equality in the office.
