Kathmandu. Citizens Bank International Limited has entered its 19th year after completing 18 years of its establishment. On the occasion, the bank has organized various programs and celebrated it in a grand manner. Established as a commercial bank in 2064 BS, Citizens Bank has been serving 1.879 million customers so far.
Currently serving through 200 branches across the country, the bank’s deposit amount has reached about Rs 202 billion in the third quarter of the current fiscal year and Rs 173 billion has been mobilized towards loans. The bank, which has been operating state offices in its own buildings in all seven provinces, has been expanding its reach across the country.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the bank organized a prabhat pheri program in all seven provinces this morning, in which about 921 employees participated. According to the bank, the prabhat pheri program is expected to spread awareness for financial literacy.
Similarly, under the corporate social responsibility, a blood donation program was organized in collaboration with Nepal Red Cross Society and Himal Hospital with the participation of about 913 blood donors from 33 branches of all seven provinces.
Citizens Bank, which is leading in digital banking, has launched ‘Cross Bank Teller QR’ service for the first time in Nepal, adopting the motto of “Brick Banking to Click Banking”. With this service, customers of other banks will also be able to go to the nearest branch of Citizens Bank and scan ‘Cross Bank Teller QR’ through their bank’s mobile banking and get cash payment immediately. The bank believes that this will make the payment process easier, faster and safer.
In addition, the bank has also introduced Tap & Pay service for its mobile banking users. Now customers will be able to easily pay up to Rs 5,000 through mobile through Offline.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the bank launched “Citizens Freelancer Saving Account” with the slogan ‘Save Local, Earn Global’. This account, specially targeted at freelancers, will allow customers to open accounts in both Nepali rupees and US dollars. High interest rates will be provided on this account.
Similarly, free mobile banking, internet banking, debit card and demat account facility have been provided in the account. In addition, health insurance up to Rs 25,000 and accidental death insurance will also be provided along with Rs 5,000 in EAM service for the first year.
