Kathmandu. A Chinese company is planning to develop the world’s first AI robot phone. The AI robot phone will have features that will make all existing mobile phones look faded.
In terms of technology, China is rapidly getting closer to other countries. Honor is preparing to launch the world’s first AI-powered robot phone in 2026. The company’s CEO Li Jian made the announcement at the Wuzhen Summit in China. This phone will not only be a smartphone. It will also have robot-like features.
This phone will have folding and lifting mechanisms. The rear camera section will detach to become a gimbal. Gimbal stands for Camera Stabilizer. It can rotate 360 degrees, perform automatic tracking and record 4K video.
Technode reports that the phone will be equipped with a larger AI model. This further enhances the yoyo assistant. It will sense emotions, recognize objects around and control all home appliances simultaneously.
Everything will be done inside the phone, eliminating the need for the cloud. In March, Honor launched its Alpha strategy. It will invest $10 billion in the next five years. The goal is to create a complete system of AI-enabled smart devices. Honor is a leading Chinese electronics company and can produce large quantities of AI-enabled devices.
The company has shown a CGI teaser. The actual phone could be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The question is whether a foldable camera will last. The price can also be high. The 360-degree rotating camera and 4K recording will generate a lot of heat.
However, the company has not revealed any cooling plans. The phone may get hot during a long shoot. GoPro has a patent but has difficulties using both methods at the same time. The phone could be a game-changer for video creators. Hand movements will prevent video distortion. Automatic tracking will make shooting easier. The AI will understand what to capture. But for now, it’s all on paper. The actual performance remains to be seen.
Honor is a well-known Chinese company. It manufactures smartphones, laptops, tablets and smartwatches. It started as a sub-brand of Huawei in 2013. Huawei’s mission was to provide affordable and stylish phones to young people. Honor phones are known for their good cameras, fast processors and long battery life.
In 2020, Huawei separated Honor due to US sanctions. It is now an independent company owned by a government-backed company based in Shenzhen. Honor now also uses Google services (such as the Play Store). Which were previously missing from Huawei phones.
