Kathmandu. Chinese carmaker Build Your Dream (BYD) has updated its vehicle portfolio in the Indian market. Its famous electric sedan car BYD Seal has been launched in a new avatar.
The company has made some big changes to this new car. Which makes it better than the previous model. The starting price of the new seal has been fixed at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new BYD SEAL has several upgrades aimed at improving driving mobility, cabin facilities and connectivity. The company will use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) low voltage battery (LVB). Which comes with low weight, better self-discharge performance and an extended life expectancy of up to 15 years.
The company has not made any changes in the look and design. It has a power sunshed. Which was previously available as an auxiliary option. Apart from this, it also has silver-plated dimming canopy, upgraded air conditioning system with large compressor and improved suspension with better air purification, frequency selective damper in premium variants.
The performance grade of this car has been given disus-C intelligent damping system. This helps in adjusting the suspension in real time according to the condition of the road. The premium variant is now equipped with a Frequency Selective Damper (FSD). Which was previously available only on top-specific models.
In addition, the touchscreen infotainment system supports wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto interface. While the new sound wave function improves the sound inside the cabin.
The cabin of this electric car is very luxurious. It has a 15.6-inch self-adapt rotating screen. Which the user can rotate in any direction according to his convenience. Apart from this, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrumental console is available. In which information like power meter, speedometer, state of charging, remaining driving range is available.
The letter-wrapped steering wheel and good cushioning seats make its cabin even more premium. The car gets features like wireless charging, advanced windshield head-up-display (HUD), silver-plated panoramic gloss sunroof and crystal gearshift (RND).
The car’s cabin is decorated with a dark theme. The advanced features and technology are clearly visible in it. The company claims that its cabin is designed on the Ocean Aesthetics concept. Which provides a comfortable and lively environment during the journey. High quality materials are used in its interior.
BYD SEAL maintains cell-to-body (CTB) and Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (ITAC) technology. The all-wheel-drive performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.8 seconds. Apart from this, all variants of the car now come as power sunshed and silver-plated dimming canopy standard. So that the comfort in the cabin can be improved. The air-conditioned system has been upgraded with a large compressor and air purification module.
The BY SEAL features a new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low voltage battery. The company claims that it is six times lighter than the traditional lead acid battery and its life is 15 years. This means that this battery will last for 15 years without any problems. This car gives a driving range of 650 kilometers on a single charge. Its battery DC fast charger charges so much in 15 minutes that the car is able to deliver a driving range of up to 200 kilometers. Apart from this, it takes 45 minutes to charge the battery 80 percent.
