Budget will be allocated keeping drinking water projects in high priority across the country: Minister Yadav

Kathmandu. Minister for Drinking Water Pradeep Yadav has said that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year would be allocated keeping the drinking water projects across the country in high priority. Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Nagwa Drinking Water Overhead Tank at Birgunj Metropolitan City-16 today, Minister Yadav said adequate budget would be allocated for the distribution of clean and safe drinking water to the Nepali people.

“My main goal is to provide pure safe drinking water to the citizens. Adequate budget is allocated in the drinking water sector. We will distribute safe water to all citizens. ”

Minister Yadav said the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) would be achieved by providing clean and quality drinking water to all citizens in the coming fiscal year 2082/83 BS and increasing investment in the sanitation sector.

“The entire ministry is working to provide clean and quality drinking water to the people of tarai, Madhes, mountains and hills in the coming year,” he said. By increasing access to drinking water, we will run the drinking water project in an integrated manner with the co-investment of the local level and consumers. ”

Minister Yadav also assured that the Nagwa Drinking Water Overhead Tank Project would be completed within 18 months and he would regularly monitor the project so that the work could be completed on time.

“I am proud to lay the foundation stone of a historic project that will directly benefit the people of my own constituency,” he said. Like gas, shelter, clothing, water is also a basic necessity of human life and today we have taken a step forward to secure that basic right. ”

Around 3,500 households of ward no. 15 and 16 will be benefited from the project, said Arjun Babu Dhakal, general manager of the Drinking Water Corporation. According to him, it is believed that after the completion of the project, there will be easy, pure and adequate water supply to the people who are facing difficulties in daily life due to lack of drinking water.

Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajesh Man Singh, Ward No. 16 Ward Member Lavangi Devi, Birgunj-15 Ward Chair Ramesh Yadav, Ward No. 16 Ward Member Pramod Yadav, JSP District President and Bahudarmai Municipality Mayor Singhasan Sah Teli, District Coordination Committee Parsa Chief Ajay Sarraf, JSP Central Member Jannat Ansari and JSP Central Member Purshottam Lal Jha Lagaye were present on the occasion.
