Kathmandu. Buddha Air Pvt. Ltd., a private sector air service provider, has upgraded the rating for banking loans from ICRA Nepal Limited.
Buddha Air has received ‘A1’ rating for short-term banking loan facility and ‘LA’ rating for long-term loan.
According to Buddha Air, the bank was rated ‘A2’ for short-term loan purposes and ‘LA minus’ for long-term loans.
Buddha Air is a leading company in the domestic air service sector. The 28-year-old airline has been operating 19 ATR aircraft to operate flights back home and to Benares in India.

, Buddha Air claims that this rating will prove that the company meets global standards regarding operations and safety needs.
ICRA Nepal, TAG_OPEN_div_18 however, did not issue a press release regarding the credit rating of Buddha Air.
According to the provisions TAG_OPEN_div_16 of Nepal Rastra Bank, companies with banking loans of more than Rs 500 million must get credit rating through a rating agency recognized by the Securities Board. The loan must be compulsorily rated each year while consuming it.
