Kathmandu. Bina Rai is an insurance agent by profession. Bina, who was born in Majhuwagadhi Municipality-4 of Khotang district, is Bhaktapur. Currently, Bina is working as an agency manager from the Maitidevi branch office of Citizen Life. She is known as a courageous woman in the life insurance sector. She is working hard and struggling in search of success.
Born in 2038 B.S., Bina’s childhood was spent in a happy way. Due to family circumstances, she spent her childhood sometimes in Kathmandu and sometimes in Khotang. Eventually, Bina completed her SLC from her birthplace in Khotang. Bina, who grew up in a family environment with a Lahore and political background, spent her childhood in a joint family, working as a cook, alcoholic and alcoholic cook.

Before entering the insurance sector, Bina worked in a finance company. Bina, who has been working as a founding shareholder in a finance company, joined the program after a known friend told her, “There is a program in the former Jyoti Life.” After that, the friend told Bina, ‘Let’s work as an agent, a profession that can be done on time, a profession in social welfare is very good’, after which Bina said ‘yes’ and participated in the training. Bina did not know about insurance, but after taking training, she learned about insurance. After that, she got her license from the then Jyoti Life in the year 2076 BS and started working. She worked for a week at the then Jyoti Life and sold 3 policies.

Bina, who worked at the then Jyoti Life for a short time, bought 3 policies from her brother Amar Pradhan, who knew her from the then Surya Life. When the brother came to know that Bina had taken a license from the then Jyoti Life, he said, “Sister, if you want to work as an agent, let’s work together at Citizen Life.” After this, Citizen Life’s Nepal Top Agent Senior Agency Manager Tuk Bahadur Rana (whom Bina addresses as Maiti) also told Bina to come to Citizen, it is a good company and policy. She was happy with Citizen Life and got her license.
Bina has been successful in the insurance sector due to the encouragement and inspiration of her brother Amar Pradhan and Maiti’s brother Tuk Bahadur Rana.
Bina credits the progress she has made in the insurance sector to Amar Pradhan and Maiti Tuk Bahadur Rana. “I am very grateful to Amar Pradhan Bhai and my maternal uncle Tuk Bahadur Rana for their support and encouragement. Today, whatever I have been able to do in the insurance sector, it is all due to them. They have supported me a lot in small things in this area. I am very grateful for the support they have given me. ’
Bina says that she has got a lot of happiness and satisfaction from the profession of an agent. “An agent is a social profession,” Bina said, adding, “I am also very interested in social work.” That’s why I’m happier than I thought because of the social welfare involved in this profession. Go to people’s homes and get insurance. It is also a social gesture to call on everyone to protect their lives, to give information about insurance. So I’m very happy.
Referring to the people who call the agent profession bad, Beena said, “In any profession, they take and pay for their work. Yes, we are also paid for working in the agent profession. There’s nothing bad to say about it. You didn’t steal and cheat yourself. It’s done by working. I have nothing to say on this. ’
Bina says that she has also received a lot of support from her family for becoming an agent. She said that even when she was just becoming an agent, everyone in the family understood the insurance and supported Bina’s work.

According to Bina, an insurance agent should have good image, dedication, sweetness of speech, humor and patience. “An insurance agent should not only be an insurance agent but should also be able to solve the problems faced by them,” she said, “It is necessary for an insurance agent to be informed, soft spoken and not to lie.” ’
Bina feels that she has changed a lot after joining the profession of an agent. Bina, who has a quarrelsome and angry nature, has changed many habits after joining this profession, including not getting angry, tolerant, speaking politely, and mingling with everyone. “I have felt that I have changed a lot since I became an agent. I was able to speak freely in front of everyone. I got a chance to learn a lot of things like how to walk, how to talk to someone,” she said.
Bina has urged all the newcomers who want to come into this profession as it is a very good profession. He said that this profession is very good because he can earn millions by taking out a license by spending 3,500 rupees. “The agent profession is very good for a woman who stays at home. Instead of staying at home all day, you can become self-reliant in this profession. There is no better profession than an agent for women who do not have to beg their husbands to ask for 2-4 rupees. That’s why the job is the best profession for all,” she said, “The more hard work you put in, the more you can earn.” I urge everyone to take up this profession as it is a profession that can be done by giving time to the family and children. ’
