Kathmandu. Bharatpur Metropolitan City has distributed certificates to 779 trainees participating in demand-based skill-based training. Amidst a program on Thursday, the Metropolitan City formally handed over certificates to the trainees who have been trained in various skill areas.
Keeping in mind the demand of the local labor market and the need for skilled manpower, the Metropolitan Municipality had conducted mason (slope and construction), varista (coffee and beverage preparation), driving, and advanced beauty parlor training.
Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari and Chief Administrative Officer Laxmi Prasad Poudel jointly distributed certificates to the trainees.
Mayor Dahal said that the training was organized with the objective of creating a self-reliant city by creating employment through skill development. She expressed her commitment to motivate the youth towards self-employment by giving priority to such training in the future of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Chief Dahal urged the trainees to develop industry, business and employment through the knowledge skills acquired in the training. He said that there is a demand for skilled manpower at home and abroad, so after learning the skills, good income can be earned.
Similarly, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari said that the metropolis has been providing such trainings to the youth every year. According to him, Rs 15 million has been allocated for the skill development programme for the current fiscal year and 1,700 people have been trained from the same budget.
