Kathmandu. Banks have seen a high demand for car loans for personal purposes.
The data released by Nepal Rastra Bank on Wednesday for the current fiscal year up to Falgun has shown this. In these 8 months, banks have disbursed car loans worth Rs 129.9561 billion. This is 4.7 percent more than the amount disbursed by banks up to mid-Ashar. Banks had disbursed car loans worth Rs 124.112 billion by mid-Ashar.
While personal loans increased by 14.8 percent in total car loans, commercial loans increased by only 0.4 percent. As of Falgun, it appears that 42 billion 305.7 million rupees had been disbursed from banks for personal purposes and 87 billion 654 million rupees for business purposes.
As of mid-July, 36 billion 841.3 million rupees had been disbursed from banks for personal purposes and 87 billion 261.1 million rupees for business purposes.
