Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has made public the list of bank holidays for the year 2082.
The central bank has made public the list of bank holidays for a total of 48 days in 2082, including Dashain and Tihar. This also includes holidays decided by the Government of Nepal after the date.
According to the NRB, banks will be closed on the New Year, i.e. Baisakh 1. A public holiday has been given on Baisakh 18, World Workers’ Day (May 1).
Similarly, banks will be closed for 7 days during Dashain and 5 days during Tihar. Accordingly, banks will be closed from Ghatasthapana on Asoj 6 and Phulpati on Asoj 13 to Dwadashi on Asoj 18. During Tihar, bank holidays have been given from Laxmi Puja on Kartik 3 to Bhai Tika on Kartik 7.
Similarly, every Saturday will be a bank holiday and Friday will be a half-day holiday. If the provincial government announces a public holiday in its respective province, a maximum of 6 days of public holidays in a year will be public holidays in the offices in the respective province, and if the provincial government declares a public holiday of more than 6 days applicable throughout its province, and in the case of the three districts of Kathmandu Valley, it will be as decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Rastra Bank has stated.
Meanwhile, the Rastra Bank has also determined the office hours and banking transaction hours. From Baisakh 1 to Kartik 15 and from Magh 16 to Chait Masant, the office hours will be from 10 am to 5 pm. From Kartik 16 to Magh 15, the office hours will be from 10 am to 4 pm. Every Friday will be from 10 am to 1:30 pm.
Similarly, the banking hours from 2082 Baisakh 1 to Kartik 15 and from Magh 16 to Chait Masant will be from 10 am to 4 pm. From Kartik 16 to Magh 15, the office hours will be from 10 am to 3 pm. Every Friday will be from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
