  • Orders to kill unarmed protesters.
  • Excitement.
  • Failure to stop tyranny.

The court said that Sheikh Hasina’s order was implemented when she ordered the use of drones, helicopters and dangerous weapons against the protesters. Sheikh Hasina had instigated the people. She had provoked people and failed to take preventive and punitive measures. ’

According to the ICT, Sheikh Hasina had committed crimes against humanity using drones and helicopters. Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has been found guilty of incitement. The court said the former home minister and the police had failed to stop the atrocities.

Sheikh Hasina was the supreme commander. It is clear that Sheikh Hasina had high control over the interior minister and the police chief. It was his responsibility to take measures to stop the atrocities on the protesters.

The interior minister had supreme command over the police chief and was responsible for preventing them from committing atrocities.

The ICT had prosecuted 3 people in connection with the alleged protests in July last year. These include former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former interior minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former police chief Chaudhry Abdullah al-Mamoon.

The verdict was pronounced by the ICT headed by Justice Mohammad Ghulam Murtaza Majumdar. Asaduzzaman is absconding in the case while Mamun is in custody. He has pleaded guilty. Mamoon has also become a government witness.

Sheikh Hasina has been living in India since she left Bangladesh in August 2025. She has denied all the allegations.

Last year, the student-led protests took place from July 15 to August 15. More than 1,400 people were killed in the month-long protests.
