Asset quality assessment of commercial banks to be done

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is going to evaluate the asset quality of commercial banks.

Governor Bishwanath Poudel made the announcement while unveiling the annual monetary policy for the upcoming fiscal year today. “Asset quality assessment will be carried out to improve the asset quality of commercial banks,” he said.

Similarly, in order to maintain stability by reducing the liquidity risk of banks and financial institutions, the provisions related to credit-deposit ratio will be reviewed after effective implementation of liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) and net funding ratio (NFR) as per international good practice.
