Kathmandu. A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) held in Bangkok of Thailand on Wednesday handed over the leadership of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) Chief Executive Officer Dinesh Bhatta.
Earlier, Rajendra Singh, the head of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), was the chairman of the Indian government. Bhatta will now chair the meeting of the organization for 1 year.
Participants from Nepal, India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, Cambodia, Philippines and Sri Lanka were present in the meeting.
ADPC is leading regional programmes in Asia and the Pacific, including capacity building for disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation. These initiatives focus on policy support and multistakeholder collaboration to build long-term resilience.
ADPC is an autonomous international organization. It is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand.
