Kathmandu. Nabil Bank has invited applications for a new batch of Fellowship and Certificate courses under Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE).
People who have the intention of contributing positively to the society through entrepreneurship can participate in this program started with the goal of promoting social entrepreneurship. The Nepali citizens who have completed 18 years of age can apply till 11:59 pm on November 12.
Manoj Kumar Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank, said that the Nabil SSE program is focused on the poor and underprivileged with the goal of development of the country, poverty alleviation and empowerment. “Empowerment of social enterprises is one of the most effective means to fulfill our commitment towards the development of the country,” he said, adding that the Nabil SSE programs are focused on inclusive development and job creation by strategically mobilizing available resources, reaching out to underserved communities and promoting financial innovation.
Nabil SSE has two programs, fellowship and certificate courses. According to the bank, the application for the sixth cohort of Nabil SSE Fellowship Course is currently open. The six-month program is being conducted in collaboration with Tribhuvan University, Faculty of Management.
The fellowship program targets startups and social entrepreneurs working on innovative ideas. The participants will receive 6 months of world-class training and mentorship. In addition, network expansion, financial access facilities will also be available. So far, 62 enterprises have been operated under the fellowship with 76 participants.
Similarly, the certificate course is being conducted in all seven provinces. The three-month course is being conducted in collaboration with various educational institutions. The course is currently being conducted at Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus in Koshi Province, Birgunj Public College and Monastic Secondary English Boarding School in Madhes Province and Campaign College in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Kshitij International College, Dibya Jyoti Multiple Campus and Kohalpur Model College in Lumbini Province, Surkhet Model College in Surkhet of Karnali Province and Far-Western Academy in Sudurpaschim Province. According to the bank, the program has been launched with the goal of strengthening the local economy through social entrepreneurs. So far, 1,069 people have benefited from the certificate course.
From this year, the bank will be conducting Nabil SSE Certificate Course based on different priority areas according to the province. According to the plan, high-value crop in Koshi Province, agro value chain in Madhes, digital innovation and green enterprise development in Bagmati and community homestay and tourism promotion program in Gandaki Province will be given priority. Similarly, agro value chain, religious tourism, culture-related entrepreneurship in Lumbini Province, mountain entrepreneurship campaign-beekeeping, bamboo and herbs enterprises in Karnali and rural tourism and livestock rearing in Sudurpaschim Province have been targeted.
Those interested in participating in both the programs can apply through Nabil Bank’s website and through Nabil SAE social media. The bank considers Nabil SSE as one of the cornerstones of its commitment to strengthen entrepreneurship contributing to sustainable development. The programme has helped create more than 17,000 jobs so far.
