I wasn’t a political person. Not corrupt or smugglers. I started my career at the age of 17. It is a situation where we have come to this situation by taking so many ups and downs and risks. Not only did I do business, but I also taught many others. We should do business in Nepal.
I have been encouraging that there is a lot of potential in Nepal. I am also contributing to the society by earning something from my business. I have been involved in social and humanitarian service since a young age. It’s not just me, we’re a couple. Whether it was during the earthquake of 1972 or COVID, we imported a large number of ambulances and provided them to various organizations free of cost. Which are still serving in various parts of Nepal to this day.
We, the couple, through various social organizations, have been contributing to the humanitarian service by giving first priority to the humanitarian service even after leaving our business and business when the country and society are in trouble. To this day, I do not feel that I have done anything wrong knowingly, but even while doing so, my heart is burning when my home and office are burnt today. Along with the fire of the burning house, all my enthusiasm is also being burnt to ashes. Looking at the burnt house in ruins, it seems that it was a mistake to live in Nepal and do business.
My 35 years of hard work and sweat were associated with this house built on the land that my grandparents had earned. But, in an instant, everything was reduced to ashes.
On the one hand, the pain of losing property and home was even more painful than the pain of losing a sister who was a member of our family. Just moments before the incident, the sister, who had cooked and fed all of us, would be brutally burnt alive to death in an instant. If there are people in the house, then knowing that Genji did the work of setting fire from the bottom or there was someone else inside, time will tell, but whoever it is, these cruel criminals will not be able to escape under any political cover in the future.
I am connected with my elder brother Bindu Thapa in the current movement. My brother is in politics. After being successful in business, he started working in politics. Is it a crime to do politics? He was known as a successful businessman in Pokhara long before joining politics. And the second thing is that the way hundreds of fake IDs have been created on social media saying that he has been corrupted and the money obtained from corruption is enjoyed by his sons, is completely baseless and imaginary. Seeing his growing popularity, it is a plan to fulfill his political ambitions by damaging his image. Of course, the general public of this area knows very well about him.
One important thing is that our family is not in a position to earn money by corrupting people’s money not only now but also from our ancestors. Our forefathers have also made an important contribution in building this country. We are their children. That’s why we love this country even more. My elder brother has also been donating his entire salary and allowances from his time as lawmaker and minister to social causes. He is one of the very few politicians in Nepal with a clean image. Who has put all his movable and immovable assets in front of all the people with transparency. Would anyone have done this if he had committed corruption or planned to do it later?
