Kathmandu. Passengers will no longer have to remove their shoes while checking at US airports. The U.S. Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) has ended its policy of removing shoes for safety checks after two decades.

Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem said the changes were “immediately implemented” at all airports in the United States. However, the ‘multi-level’ investigation process will continue. ’

“Air passengers will still have to remove belts and coats during checking,” Noam said. Laptops and liquids will also have to be removed from the bag, but these rules are also being reviewed. ’

In December 2001, a British citizen hid a bomb in his shoes on a flight from Paris to Miami. The British citizen could not detonate the bomb and was caught by passengers. The plane then landed safely in Boston.

Then in 2006, the US introduced the rules to remove shoes to check the safety of air passengers. “Our security technology has changed a lot. It has evolved a lot. That’s what TSA has happened,” Noam said.
