New Delhi. Following the recent Air India plane crash in India, major insurance companies across the country have launched a fast-track action plan to provide timely relief to the affected passengers and their families.
The tragedy that occurred earlier this week prompted an immediate response from airlines and the insurance sector. While the cause of the accident is under investigation, insurance companies have taken steps to address personal accident, travel insurance and life insurance claims on priority.
A spokesperson of a leading insurance company said, “We are deeply saddened by the incident of air India plane crash. Our dedicated claim team is working round the clock to process all legitimate claims with promptness and condolences. ”
Insurance companies are coordinating with Air India and airport authorities to verify passenger details, evaluate the eligibility of claims, and quickly collect the required documents. Many companies have started special helpline services and deployed claim support teams at hospitals and airports.
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has also directed the insurance companies to act with human sensitivity, simplify the claim process and provide relief at the earliest by removing some formalities.
At a time when the nation is in mourning, the active and rapid response of the insurance sector has been a source of some relief for the affected families.
