Additional NPR 25 bn floated in the stock market, Share-loan demands above NPR10 mn soars

Kathmandu: Commercial banks have infused an additional NPR 25 billion into the stock market by the end of the first seven months of current fiscal year 2081/82.

According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, banks have disbursed NPR 115 billion against collateral of Stocks in the first 7 months of the current fiscal year. As of last Asar, Rs 90 billion 932 million was disbursed. Accordingly, banks disbursed an additional Rs 25 billion 171 million in share collateral loans in the first 7 months of the current fiscal year. As of Asar, share collateral loans increased by 27.7 percent as of Poush.

As of January, banks have disbursed Rs 76 billion 40 million 14 million in share collateral loans in the range above Rs 10 million. As of last Ashar, loans in this range had disbursed Rs 55 billion 932 million. The demand for loans in this range has increased by 36.6 percent.

Similarly, as of Magh, loans from banks in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 10 crore have amounted to Rs 14.54 billion 22 lakh, loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh have amounted to Rs 16.25 billion 34 lakh, and loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 7.91 billion 33 lakh. As of Asad, loans from banks in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 10 million were Rs 12.42 billion 7.7 billion, loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh were Rs 14.42 billion 31 million, and loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 25 lakh were Rs 7.31 billion 23 million.

Compared to last Asad, loans in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 10 million have increased by 17 percent, loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 25 lakh by 12.7 percent, and loans in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 25 lakh by 8.2 percent.
