Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have done business of more than Rs 32.81 billion till Mid-April of the current fiscal year.
According to nepal insurance authority data, 14 non-life insurance companies and four non-life micro insurance companies have earned a total insurance premium of Rs 32.81 billion in the nine months from July to March. During this period, companies have done the most business of motor insurance. In motor insurance, the company has earned a total insurance premium of Rs 9.82 billion in nine months. The share of motor insurance in the total non-life insurance business is 29.95 percent.
Similarly, the second highest number of business companies have seen assets. The companies have collected a total of Rs 8.19 billion in insurance premiums till Mid-April. Property insurance accounts for 24.99 percent of the total business.
In the nine months, the companies earned Rs 5.56 billion in engineering and contract, Rs 3.57 billion in various sectors, Rs 1.89 billion in marine, Rs 1.81 billion in aviation, Rs 1.23 billion in livestock and agriculture and Rs 699.7 million in micro sector. Engineering and contracting account for 16.94 per cent, miscellaneous 10.89 per cent, marine 5.77 per cent, aviation 5.55 per cent, livestock and agriculture 3.78 per cent and micro 2.13 per cent.
