75% of India’s ATMs started leaving rs. Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes, no option to withdraw small denomination notes in Nepal

Kathmandu. AtMs of banks in neighbouring India have provided Rs. Arrangements have been made to withdraw rs 100 and Rs 200 notes. Following a recent directive from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all banks have to pay Rs 50,000 to their ATM machines. They have started providing Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes.

Banks in Nepal also have Rs. 10,000 in ATMs. There is no provision to withdraw less than 1000 rupees. However, in Nepal, Rs. 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 notes are also in circulation. Customers cannot withdraw less than Rs 1,000 from ATMs.

After the RBI’s directive, 73 percent of India’s ATMs will have at least Rs. 1 in cassettes. Rs 100 or Rs 200 notes have been made available. At the ATM, Rs. The main purpose of providing 100 and 200 rupee notes is to make it easier for the common man to get small notes for daily transactions. This arrangement seems to be particularly useful for people in rural and small towns.

In April, the RBI issued a circular stating that by September 30, all banks will deposit at least 75 per cent of their ATMs at Rs 50.00 crore. It had directed to ensure the distribution of Rs 100 or Rs 200 notes. This number will have to be increased to 90 percent by March 31, 2026.
