Kathmandu. Five names have been shortlisted for the vacant post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
The recommendation committee formed by the Ministry of Finance has shortlisted five names out of the 10 applicants for the position of CEO of NEPSE. Chudamani Chapagain, Narad Kumar Luitel, Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel and Hemanta Basyal have been shortlisted.
The application for the position of CEO of NEPSE was opened by publishing a notification on Falgun 12 last year and till Falgun 18. Then, citing that there were 3 public holidays within the specified period, the committee extended the deadline by 7 days and opened the applications till today, March 25.
Among the applicants, Yubaraj Dahal, Prabin Adhikari, Bimal Kumar Tiwari, Krishna Bahadur Karki and Mukandaraj Joshi have dropped out of the race to become the CEO of NEPSE.
The committee has called the shortlisted candidates for an action plan presentation and interview on March 25. The action plan presentation and interview will begin at 7 am at the Ministry of Finance.
The committee has urged the candidates to come with original documents confirming their citizenship, educational qualifications, and work experience when presenting the action plan and giving the interview.
After the presentation and interview, the committee will recommend the names of 3 out of the 5 people to the Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers will appoint 1 of the 3 people as the CEO of NEPSE.
The CEO is being appointed through open competition in NEPSE. The term of outgoing CEO Karki of NEPSE ended on Magh 25. Currently, the acting CEO responsibility of NEPSE has been given to Manager Niranjan Phuyal.
