Kathmandu. Five candidates were in the fray for the post of CEO of The Insurance Institute of Nepal (IIN).
IIN’s candidate recommendation committee issued a notification on Thursday announcing the names of all the five candidates who have applied for the post of CEO. Subash Koirala of Kathmandu, Sujan Subedi of Harisiddhi in Lalitpur, Buddhakaji Shrestha of Paknajol, Kathmandu, Narayan Kumar Bhattarai of Dhumbarahi and Dr Laxmi Kanta Poudel of Lamjung Duradanda are contesting for the post of CEO.
The recommendation committee had opened the application for the post of CEO on March 15.
Now the committee will recommend the names of these candidates to the Board of Directors of IIN. One of them will be appointed as the CEO of IIN by the Board of Directors.
Shortly after being promoted to the post of Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority, Sushil Dev Subedi was removed as the CEO of IIN. Subedi was the CEO of IIN since July 1, 2018, before being promoted to the post of Executive Director.
The Executive Director of the Insurance Authority will be the ex-officio Chairman of the Board of Directors of IIN. The post of CEO of IIN has been lying vacant after Subedi’s exit from the management.
