Kathmandu. The UNITED States and Canada have ordered the return of 5.2 million swimming pools set up on land.

The swimming pools were recalled from the US and Canada nearly two decades after they were sold. The vendors have called for the return of the swimming pool after nine drowning incidents came to light.

Recalls include Bestway, Intex Recreation and Polygroup Bridge, sold by major retailers in 2002. According to information published monday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, the bridges have compression straps attached to the outside of the product. Young children are allowed to enter the water without supervision.

The safety regulator has warned that this could pose a serious sinking risk. The Commission believes that nine children have drowned across the U.S. after entering the now-renamed swimming pools in this way. The deaths occurred between 2007 and 2022. These included children aged 22 months to 3 years. No other deaths have been reported in Canada. – Agency
