Kathmandu. Now, the system of issuing Permanent Account Number (PAN) has been made from the local level.
The Inland Revenue Department under the Ministry of Finance has issued a notice informing about this. “Among the services being provided by the taxpayer service offices, arrangements have been made to provide the services including the issuance of the Permanent Account Number (PAN) certificate from the concerned local level,” the notice reads.
According to the Department, arrangements have been made to provide these services from the Treasury and Account Comptroller Office in the concerned district in case it may take time to resume these services from the local level. “Many services like tax payment, tax clearance certificate and other services can be availed through the online system,” the notice reads.
According to the notice, arrangements have been made to decentralize the service delivery of the Inland Revenue Department and its subordinate offices closer to the taxpayers and technology-friendly and the cooperation of all the stakeholders related to the Department is expected in the implementation of this provision as the service will be resumed from the concerned taxpayer service offices until an alternative arrangement of service delivery is made.
According to the notice, the department’s attention has been drawn to the feedback received from various stakeholders in the district regarding the dissolution of the taxpayer service offices operating under the department.
