Kathmandu. National Life Insurance Company (NLIC) has released its revised financial statements for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (July-April).
According to the financial statement, the company has earned a profit of Rs 408.5 million till the third quarter. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a profit of Rs 388.3 million. The company’s profit increased by 5.20 percent in the review period compared to the previous fiscal year.
As of Mid-April of the current fiscal year, the company’s share premium stood at Rs 27.8 million, disaster fund at Rs 610.6 million, retained earnings at Rs 855.1 million and other equities at Rs 407 million. As of Mid-July last year, the company had rs 27.8 million in share premium, Rs 569.7 million in disaster fund, Rs 1.22 billion in retained earnings and Rs 393 million in other equities.
As of the review period, the company’s life insurance fund stood at Rs 66.65 billion. The life insurance fund stood at Rs 61.15 billion in the same period last year. The size of the company’s life insurance fund increased by 8.99 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Till the third quarter, the company has earned a total insurance premium of Rs 14.26 billion. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a total insurance premium of Rs 12.90 billion. Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company’s total insurance revenue has increased by 10.59 percent.
The company has earned a net insurance premium of Rs 14.07 billion during the review period. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a net insurance premium of Rs 12.62 billion. The company’s net insurance revenue has increased by 11.54 percent compared to the previous year.
The company’s annualised earnings per share (EPS) increased to Rs 10.49 from Rs 5.21 billion in share capital. Last year, the EPS was Rs 10.33. The company has a net worth of Rs 136.47 per share with a PE ratio of 59.56 times.
