Kathmandu. Swavalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has completed the “Financial Literacy and Environmental Protection with Students” program. More than 240 students participated in the program organized at Bhagwati Madhyamik School, Sankhu, Shankharapur Municipality, Kathmandu.
The branch office, Sankhu, Kathmandu, has organized the program under its corporate social responsibility with the aim of creating financial awareness among youth and students, protecting the environment and developing the concept of 3 zeros (zero net carbon emissions, zero poverty and zero unemployment).
In the program, the organization’s Deputy General Manager Govinda Chapagain highlighted the objectives of the program and Manager Suman Shrestha gave a presentation on the financial literacy program and the 3 zeros program as a resource person. The orientation program was attended by the school principal Anup Shrestha, vice-principal Sanjeev Shrestha, teachers, branch office employees and parents.
Swavalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha is a national-level microfinance financial institution of “D” category, registered with the Office of the Registrar of Companies, Government of Nepal, as per the Companies Act and licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank to conduct financial transactions. This financial institution has been providing essential banking/financial services including savings, loans, remittances, microinsurance and other essential banking/financial services to more than 263,000 underprivileged women members through 145 branches/sub-branches and 9 regional offices in 61 districts across the country.
