In the first two months of the current fiscal year, i.e. July and August, foreign apples worth about Rs 2 billion have entered Nepal. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the latest foreign trade data released by the Department of Customs, 1,49,01,825 kg of apples worth Rs 1.95 billion were imported during the period. In order to meet the daily consumption of apples in the Nepali market and the demand for festivals, traders have imported a large quantity of apples from neighboring countries.TAG_OPEN_p_14 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the domestic situation of imports, the major share of foreign apples consumed in Nepal comes from China. According to the data of the department, 8,971,221 kilograms of apples worth Rs 1.46 billion were imported from China during the review period.TAG_OPEN_p_13 <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p data-path-to-node=\"1\"> Similarly, during the same two months, a significant amount of apples were also imported from the southern neighboring country India. A total of 59,30,604 kg of apples worth Rs 490,02,43,000 have been imported from India.
