KATHMANDU: A delegation of the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) met with Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Deepak Kumar Sah and discussed the impact of the agency registration rules on the automobile business. <\/p>\n
Naima has drawn the attention of the minister to the provision of 5 percent deposit and the definition of ‘commodity’ in the rules and the provision to pay 5 percent deposit. Naima has said that considering different models of the same brand as different items, asking for a separate deposit for each model will prevent a large amount of money from the businessman and add financial burden. <\/p>\n
Naima has also requested to clarify the definition of ‘commodity’ and to remove the provision of separate deposits for different models of the same brand. Naima has already submitted a written suggestion to the ministry in this regard. <\/p>\n
During the discussion, Minister Sah said that taking the issues raised by NAIMA positively, necessary process will be taken to review the previous decisions and to make the agency registration rules businessman and entrepreneur-friendly. Expressing gratitude for the positive initiative of the ministry, NAIMA said that it is ready to cooperate with the ministry by providing necessary facts, details and suggestions during the review of the rules. <\/p>\n
The meeting was attended by NAIMA Board members Nirakar Shrestha and Udayan Kabra, Strategy and Membership Committee Coordinator Akash Golchha, representatives of NAIMA member companies Shasheela Motors Pvt. Ltd., Omni Motors Pvt. Ltd., Spark Automotives Pvt. Ltd. and Continental Trading Enterprises and NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal. <\/p>\n
