KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office, Biratnagar has organized a discussion and interaction program with the students and teachers of Gems International Secondary Boarding School in Biratnagar-1. <\/p>\n
Rajendra Maharjan, chief of Nepal Insurance Authority’s Koshi Province Office, said that the orientation programme was organized with the objective of increasing public awareness about insurance through students and teachers. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Assistant Director of NEA Pushpa Khanal gave a presentation on the financial system of Nepal, the identity, types, importance and challenges of the insurance sector as well as the functions, duties and rights of the Insurance Authority. She stressed on the need to increase financial literacy among the students and take information related to insurance to the community level. <\/p>\n
A question and answer program was also conducted for the students in the program. Principal of the school, Pankaj Khadka, said that insurance is important to reduce financial risk and such programs will help in increasing practical financial knowledge among both students and parents. <\/p>\n
The program was presided over by Rajendra Maharjan, Chief of Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province Office, where students put forth various questions related to insurance. Maharjan said that life, house, agriculture and livestock insurance will help in reducing the financial risk due to disasters and damages. The program was conducted by Sabita Jha, Assistant Director of Nepal Insurance Authority. <\/p>\n
Maharjan, Koshi Province Chief of the Authority, urged to understand the terms and conditions of the insurance policy well and said that it can be a good career field for the students as there is a demand for skilled manpower in the insurance sector.
