Kathmandu. The opening of the track at Krishnabhir on the Nagdhunga-Muglin road section of the Prithvi Highway has been completed within the date announced by Prime Minister Balendra Shah during his address to the Federal Parliament. <\/p>\n
Prime Minister Shah, while briefing the House of Representatives on September 3 regarding the search, rescue, treatment and relief management initiated by the government following the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, had announced that the road that was obstructed at Krishnabhir would be brought into operation by the month of September. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the transport service has already started on a trial basis on the section under the leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development from September 12 and two-way traffic will be operated from Thursday. According to the Secretariat, Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal is continuously working for this. <\/p>\n
The flood on the morning of August 26 had damaged the security wall of Krishnabhir and another flood on August 28 had completely disrupted the vehicular movement after the wall was breached. <\/p>\n
Soon after, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development conducted a four-day rapid study with the help of technicians from the Department of Roads and the Nepal Geotechnical Society. Experts had suggested cutting the hill of Krishnabhir as the first option to build a new track of 250 meters long. <\/p>\n
According to the suggestions received from the experts, the felling of trees started from September 3. After that, the track was constructed by digging a hill up to a height of 35 meters and within 20 meters. <\/p>\n
In this work, 50 people, including technicians, are working continuously for 12 to 16 hours a day. As a result, some vehicles with gas bullets have been operating on a trial basis since the 10th day of the start of the work. Since then, essential transportation has been going on in the morning and evening. <\/p>\n
At present, the work of graveling, constructing drains and strengthening the road is going on on the road.
