KATHMANDU: Beni Hydropower Project Limited is going to issue an initial public offering (IPO) from September 22. After allocating the IPO for the local residents of the project-affected areas and Nepalis working abroad in the first phase, the company is now going to issue the IPO to the general public. <\/p>\n
The company was allowed to issue 20,80,000 units of shares worth Rs 20.80 crore, which is 20 per cent of the issued capital of Rs 1.04 billion. Out of this, 10,40,000 units of ordinary shares have been issued to the local residents of the project-affected areas and 1,04,000 units of ordinary shares have been allotted to Nepalis who are employed abroad. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the company has already allotted 20,800 units of shares to its employees and 52,000 units of ordinary shares to mutual funds. In the second phase, the company will issue 8,63,20,000 units of shares at a face value of Rs 100 per share to the general public. <\/p>\n
Applications can be placed for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum of 10,000 units. The first date to apply for the IPO is September 19 and September 20 at the latest. <\/p>\n
ICRA Nepal has assigned an ICRA NP Issue Rating Double B Plus to the company in the rating for the IPO issuance. This indicates that there is an average risk to the company’s ability to meet its obligations. <\/p>\n
NMB Limited is the issue manager of the company’s shares. Investors can apply through the ASBA system from the banks and financial institutions participating in the ASBA service and their designated branch offices with permission from the Securities Board of Nepal.
