Kathmandu. The government of Saudi Arabia has launched a massive crackdown on illegal immigrants. During the joint security operation conducted across Saudi Arabia from August 20 to 26, 14,434 people were arrested and 14,905 foreigners were deported for violating the Housing, Labor and Border Security Act. <\/p>\n
According to Saudi media, these nationwide operations were conducted by the relevant security authorities to identify and prosecute those who violated Saudi Housing, Labor and Border Security laws. They were arrested and deported in various cases. <\/p>\n
A total of 14,434 violators were arrested. Of them, 6,976 violated the housing system. Similarly, 4,110 violated the border security system and 3,348 violated the labour rules. <\/p>\n
Saudi security officials arrested 1,450 people who were trying to enter the country illegally at the border. Of these, 41 percent were Yemeni and 58 percent were Ethiopian nationals. Authorities arrested 44 people who were trying to cross the border illegally and leave Saudi illegally. <\/p>\n
Authorities sent 18,914 violators to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents. 2,867 violators were asked to complete their travel reservations. 14,905 violators were deported from Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n
The Saudi Interior Ministry has warned that those who help violate the country’s border security rules will face severe punishment. This includes entering Saudi illegally, providing shelter to violators, or assisting those who violate border security rules. <\/p>\n
Saudi authorities have urged residents and citizens to report anyone aiding or sheltering border security violators. Separate numbers have been issued for Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, the Eastern Province and the rest of Saudi Arabia. <\/p>\n
Saudi Arabia has been strictly enforcing its residency, labor and border security regulations in recent months.
